How many pages a day is a realistic habit?

To build a reading habit, 10-15 pages a day (10-15 min) works well and adds up to 12-18 books a year. Bill Gates reportedly reads about 50 pages a day, but that means 50+ minutes set aside for reading alone.

What if I fall behind the plan?

Come back to the calculator and fill in the "Pages already read" field. It recalculates the daily target over the days you have left. Adjusting the plan beats stressing about the backlog.

Is it better to read in the morning or evening?

It depends on the text. Material that needs focus (textbooks, law) is best in the morning when your brain is fresh. Fiction and light reading work in the evening. Consistency matters most - read at the same time to build the habit.

How do I handle weekends in the plan?

Put the number of weekend days in "Days off from reading". The calculator subtracts them and raises the daily target for the remaining days. Example: 30 days with 8 days off (weekends) leaves 22 reading days.

How many books a year is 20 pages a day?

Does the plan include breaks and note-taking?

The time shown is continuous reading. Breaks, note-taking and rereading passages add 10-30%. For study reading, add a 20-30% buffer for notes and review.
