    FAQ

    What is decimal time?
Decimal time expresses hours and minutes as a single number. 7 hours 30 minutes = 7.50 h. Timesheets, payroll systems and project tracking tools often use this format because it is easier to multiply by an hourly rate.
How does the night shift calculation work?
When you check "Shift crosses midnight", the calculator adds 24 hours to the end time before subtracting. So 22:00 to 06:00 becomes 22:00 to 30:00, giving 8 hours (minus any break).
How many work hours are in a month?
It depends on the month. A common estimate is 160 hours (4 weeks x 40 h). The actual number ranges from 160 to 184 depending on how many weekdays the month has. The yearly average at 40 h/week is 2,080 hours (52 weeks x 40).
Does the earnings mode account for taxes?
No. It calculates gross pay only (hours x rate). Net pay depends on your country, tax bracket, social contributions and deductions. Use the result as a starting point and apply your local tax rules separately.
    Can I calculate overtime hours?
Yes. Run the Work Time mode for your full shift to get total hours, then subtract your standard hours manually. For example, if you worked 10 hr 30 min and your standard day is 8 h, you have 2 hr 30 min overtime.
What is the difference between calendar days and work days?
A calendar day is 24 hours. A work day is typically 8 hours. So 40 hours = 1.67 calendar days but 5 work days. The converter shows both so you can pick the one that fits your context.
