Thirty days before an exam is not thirty days of study. Take one day off a week and it is 26. At a realistic 3 focused hours a day that is 78 hours in total, and split across four subjects it comes to 19.5 hours each. Meanwhile the session you did yesterday has already dropped to 40.5 percent if you never went back to it.
None of those numbers are about willpower. They are arithmetic, and they are the reason so many plans collapse in the final weekend despite genuine effort put in during week two. The three calculators below make each number visible early enough to do something about it: how much time actually exists, how much of the grade is already settled, and how much of what you studied is still there.
Thirty days on the calendar is twenty-six days of work
The first mistake is counting calendar days. A countdown that reads 30 feels generous, but a plan built on 30 days of study is already 12 hours short before anything goes wrong, because nobody works every single day for a month. Entering an exam date 30 days out with 4 subjects, a 3 hour daily target and one rest day a week returns a very different picture.
Four rest days come out of the month, leaving 26 study days and a budget of 78 hours. Twenty of those days are weekdays and ten fall on weekends, which matters if your weekday evenings realistically hold two hours and your Saturdays hold six. The badge reads Time to start rather than anything more dramatic, because at 30 days out the plan is still fixable.
The row worth staring at is days per subject: 7.5. That is not 7.5 days of continuous work on one subject. It is 7.5 days of calendar space in which that subject has to be seen more than once, which is exactly what the third calculator explains.

Read across your own row before deciding your daily target. Going from 2 to 3 hours a day over a month is worth 26 extra hours, which is more than a whole subject's share.
A large part of the grade is settled before the exam starts
The second number most people never check is how much of the grade is already banked. Attendance, class contribution and coursework are usually scored separately from the exam, and by week four of term that score is largely fixed. A student with 88 percent attendance, who answers when asked, hands in 80 to 95 percent of work on time and has done one optional project scores 66 out of 100.
The breakdown is where it gets useful. Attendance earns 23 of 30, contribution 20 of 25, homework 20 of 25. The three big blocks are all in reasonable shape. The gap sits somewhere quieter: extra projects at 3 of 12, which the tool flags as the largest single opportunity at 9 points.
That flag changes what you do with a free Saturday. Nine points from one or two optional projects is cheaper than clawing back attendance you have already missed, because attendance is the one component you cannot retroactively fix. Forty percent of yesterday's session is already gone
Here is the number that quietly ruins otherwise sensible plans. Abstract material, the dates and formulas and vocabulary, studied once from notes, sits at 40.5 percent one day later. Not one week later. One day. On a set of 120 vocabulary items that is 49 still there and 71 gone, overnight, with no distraction and no bad luck involved.
Go back to it once and the same 24 hour mark reads 57.6 percent, or 69 items instead of 49. One pass, 17.1 percentage points.
The full curve shows where reviewing pays and where it barely matters. After twenty minutes a review buys 6.8 points, because almost nothing has been lost yet. After two days it buys 16.5. After three months, 5.8, because by then there is little left to protect.

Putting the three numbers in the same sentence
Now the three calculators stop being separate tools. The countdown says there are 26 study days and 7.5 calendar days per subject. The forgetting curve says a subject seen once and left alone will be at 11.0 percent by exam day. Seven and a half days is enough calendar room for three reviews on the usual ladder, one day, three days, one week, and three reviews put the same material at 49.8 percent on exam day instead.

Same 78 hours either way. The difference between holding 13 items and holding 60 is not extra effort, it is where the hours sit on the calendar.
Where study plans actually break
Counting calendar days instead of study days. Thirty becomes 26 the moment you allow one day off a week, and 26 becomes 22 if a wedding and a shift land in the middle. Set the rest days first, then read the budget.
Planning hours at the desk rather than focused hours. Eight hours in a library is rarely eight hours of work. The number to enter is the one you would defend to somebody watching you, which alongside a full timetable is usually 2 to 3.
Splitting the budget evenly across subjects. A calculator divides 78 by 4 because it does not know your marks. Treat 19.5 hours as the average and move hours towards the subject you are weakest in.
Reading instead of retrieving. Passing your eyes over a page you can see is not a review. If you did not try to recall the material before checking it, the curve treats it as more of the same first pass.
Ignoring the part of the grade that is already fixed. Attendance cannot be recovered later in the term. If the participation score is low in week four, that is the moment to act on it, not the week before the exam.
Five rules that survive a real term
1. Set the rest days before the study hours. A plan with no slack breaks the first time you are ill. One rest day a week costs 4 days over a month and buys a plan that bends instead of snapping.
2. Do the second review. The first review is worth 13.5 points at the one week mark and the second is worth 16.7. Most people stop after one, which is where the largest available gain is left on the table.
3. Fix the cheapest gap, not the most visible one. Nine points from optional projects is easier than nine points of attendance you already missed. The breakdown names the component so you do not have to guess.
4. Recheck the countdown weekly, not once. The budget shrinks by roughly 3 hours every day you do not use, and a plan reviewed in week three is still a plan you can change.
5. Schedule reviews as calendar entries, not intentions. One day, three days, one week. Three reviews per subject fit comfortably inside 7.5 days of calendar space, but only if they are booked.
